Wanted!
Dance enthusiasts in Schaerbeek!
Do you have a real passion for dance? Have you always wanted to dance in front of an audience, but never did more than perform in front of your bathroom mirror? Do you live in Schaerbeek?
Then we are looking for you!
Together with Kaaitheater and De Kriekelaar, Project Bildy-Espacetous, invites you to take a journey through movements, gestures and stories. Under the guidance of performer and choreographer Einat Tuchman, we invite you to a series of workshops at GC De Kriekelaar! The result of these workshops is Urban Ritual: a contemporary ceremony accompanied by live musicians and a mix of musical styles from North and West Africa. Get in touch with fellow participants, residents of Schaerbeek and neighbours beyond words, customs and cultures!
Urban Ritual will take place on Saturday 26 April 2025 at 18h30 on the Place Lehon in Schaerbeek. Are you itching to join in? Then you can join the workshop series from 14 April, which will take place at GC De Kriekelaar on the following days:
- Monday 14 April (from 17-22h)
- Saturday 19 April (from 12-6pm)
- Wednesday 23 April (from 18-21h)
- 25 April (dress rehearsal from 18-21h at Place Lehon)
- April 26 (performance, present from 4-8pm)
What we ask of you:
- Do you live in Schaerbeek?
- Would you like to help invent a new Urban Ritual? Do you like to dance (dance experience is not necessary!)?
- Can you make yourself free on 4 workshop dates and the day of the performance, 26 April?
What we offer:
- Participation in 4 workshops as well as a performance
- Free meals at each workshop
- Volunteer's fee for the performance itself
Reimbursement of travel expenses
