Sketches/Notebook

dance
21—23.04.2016

Bizarre and intimate

Five artists from different disciplines take a central role in this imaginative, bizarre and intimate ritual. Together with five performers, they seek a shared energy in a whirlwind of music, light, images and movement. Starting out from sketches and impulses, a variety of scenes appear before your eyes. Enjoy the revival of one of Stuart's most lavish performances!

At the beginning of Sketches/Notebook (2013), the designer Claudia Hill endlessly dresses and undresses the dancers, with the most exuberant costumes and artefacts. Stuart worked closely with the artist Vladimir Miller, musician Brendan Dougherty, costume designer Claudia Hill and lighting designer Mikko Hynninen, starting from the idea of a sketchbook. All five of them are on stage together with the performers.
