The Bitten Apple

Barbara Matijevic takes you on a pseudo-scientific journey through the year 1984, approaching reality and fiction from various angles – events in the history of the former Yugoslavia, bits of world history, science fiction, film, the virtual world of the internet, video games and so on. In the course of her wanderings, she looks at such questions as how the following are related: Mona Lisa’s smile and those of Mia Slavenska, the prima ballerina of the Ballet Russe in Monte Carlo, and Mickey Mouse, Pacman’s cruel grin, Macintosh’s bitten apple, and the helmet worn by Marcus Allen of the Los Angeles Raiders.
