Sexual utopia
Nakedness, excesses, orgasmic eroticism, ritualistic pleasure, audience participation and political engagement: all are expressions of a sexual utopia, which was typical of the counterculture and experimental performances of the 1960s. But what does this utopia still mean today? In Ingvartsen’s solo – which maintains a good balance between exhibition and performance – she explores the way in which we deal with our bodies and sexuality today. She leads you through videos, performances, books, films, movements, text and image and thus brings history back to life.
