Marché Bildy Markt is a participative art project that has been developed in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek and neighbourhing communities over the last years. It brings together local producers, traditions and stories of inhabitants while focussing on different topics such as food, sports, culture and well-being. Bildy manifested itself in different shapes: as local markets, as pop-up performances, as a fashion show.
In December Marché Bildy Markt transforms itself into one big welcoming dinner table. Each dish served has a story starting from different corners in the world and coming together in a vibrant community performance. In this collective ritual, we will take you on a trip through flavors that trigger memories, honouring the distant journeys of so many people who sacrificed their lives to give their families a better future. Together and over time, they created a unique public space of diversity and hospitality.
