Homemade
Two men. They want to build a house. They collect building materials to construct something in which they feel at home. Where they will be protected from the outside world. An attractive house that they enjoy living in. They do it together. But what are the conditions that the house must meet? How can they create something that will make them both happy? Something that meets their needs in terms of aesthetics, safety, security. And sustainability, of course.
After the successful De verse tijd, Homemade is the second collaboration between Kuno Bakker and Mokhallad Rasem. Homemade forms part two of a trilogy that they will complete in April 2022 with the performance Looking for habibi. Where in De verse tijd two men met and built up a friendship, in Homemade they continue building. It is time to act. There is construction to be done.
• In the early 1990s, Kuno Bakker co-founded the Amsterdam-based theatre collective Dood Paard, with which he has performed at Kaaitheater several times. Mokhallad Rasem studied theatre in Bagdad.
