Van den vos

Fulfilment and satisfaction

Following radical adaptations that include The Divine Comedy and The Old Testament, FC Bergman now turns to another literary classic, the epic animal poem Van den vos Reynaerde (Reynard the Fox). This medieval folk tale is the inspiration for a performance which – traditionally – shows man to be a fundamentally fearful, doubt-filled creature who, in his quest for fulfilment and satisfaction, constantly balances on the edge of the chasm that leads to eternity. Liesa Van der Aa and Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop put this quest to music. Josse De Pauw provides the words. Dirk Roofthooft, Viviane De Muynck and Gregory Frateur also participate.

• The collective FC Bergman is part of Het Toneelhuis for a period of four years. Their work is adventurous and on a grand scale. In impressive, majestic stage settings, they tell us something about the vulnerability of man. Last season we presented their overwhelming Terminator Trilogy on the waste land of Tour & Taxis.

Wanted

FC Bergman is looking for men between 50 and 80 years old, with a characteristic face, who want to be part of the performance Van den vos. Experience is not required.

>>> In Brussels there will be rehearsals on 21, 22 and 23/1 in the evening and shows on 24/1 and 25/1. Please send a recent photo and a short motivation letter to extras@kaaitheater.be
