The performances at the Kaaitheater, scheduled for 3, 4 and 5 October, will therefore be cancelled. Later on will be decided whether work on the production will be continued or not.

One-to-one encounters
The choreographer Christine De Smedt last appeared at Kaaitheater in January 2005 with her 9x9 project, an impressive performance of individual and collective movements by 81 people. In her new production she wants to examine what it means to build up a personal story. The quest this time is based less on the context of mass and structures and more on the intimacy and fragility of one-to-one encounters with others.
Encounters can be confrontational. They can make us doubt or compel us to make more incisive choices. But we are not the product only of the conscious choices we make, also of everything we evade and suppress. That which is personal is seen here as a story of encounters, choices and memories on a whimsical axis of past, present and future. The result of the constant tension between the yes’s and the no’s.
