Lunch Concert: Quanto dolce è quell'ardore
Fiery cantatas about lewd girls, intriguing courtesans, and jealous lovers (in e.g. the temptation of Dafne) were all the rage in baroque Europe. The Sicilian and Neapolitan composers whose work takes center-stage here were masters of this theatrical style.
The Cannamella ensemble lets you taste the love and passion of those Mediterraneans, with cantatas and lively concertos.
