LA PLAZA
El Conde de Torrefiel is een van de revelaties van de jongste edities van het Kunstenfestivaldesarts. De afgelopen drie jaren verzamelde het duo uit Barcelona een trouw festivalpubliek rond haar visuele performances waarin hyperrealistische tableaus verstoord worden door scherpe tekst. In de kloof tussen beeld en betekenis storten ze een hybride mengsel van geschiedenis, actualiteit en futurisme. LA PLAZA – in wereldpremière op het festival – beschouwt het podium als plein: een publieke plaats die in contact staat met de toekomst. El Conde verbeeldt scènes uit onze toekomende tijd die tegelijk de dagelijkse, banale bezigheden in het Europa van vandaag laten zien. Met oog voor het minuscule detail en het onmetelijke geheel is LA PLAZA een performance op drift, dwars door de logica van ruimte en tijd. Een verontrustende speculatie en absolute aanrader.
