Over het verlangen en plezier om op een podium te staan
(Her)ontdek Jérôme Bels liefdesverklaring aan de podiumkunsten! Gala sluit aan op de reeks waarin Bel een podium geeft aan de mensen die er normaal geen plek op krijgen. Na spelers met een mentale beperking (in Disabled Theater) en het publiek zelf (in Cour d’honneur), staan nu amateurs en hun liefde voor kunst in de spotlights. Een bonte mix van dansliefhebbers en professionele dansers uit uiteenlopende genres en culturen voeren samen een waar eindejaarsgala op. Maar dan wel één die de codes van de podiumkunsten radicaal in vraag stelt. Gala ondermijnt het oppergezag van ‘goed dansen’ en viert het verlangen en plezier om op een podium te staan en iets te delen met het publiek. Het gaat niet om het bereiken van excellentie of virtuositeit, maar om het beste te doen met de middelen die je hebt. Om het met Samuel Beckett te zeggen: ‘Try again, fail again, fail better.’

Tijdens Matinee Kadee organiseren we gratis opvang voor kinderen tot 12 jaar in de vorm van een leuke workshop bij de matineevoorstellingen op zondagnamiddag. Kinderen tot vier jaar kunnen intussen spelen in de crèche.
