L'Après-midi - a solo for Emmanuel Eggermont
Hitsige bosgod
Een hitsige bosgod bespiedt twee naakte nimfen. Dat is in een notendop de ‘plot’ van het gedicht L’après-midi d’un faune (1876) van Stéphane Mallarmé. In 1894 schreef Debussy zijn Prélude à l’Après-midi d’un faune, voor velen het begin van de moderne muziek. In 1912 was deze muziek het canvas voor de legendarische choreografie van Vaslav Nijinski. Honderd jaar later brengt Raimund Hoghe zijn versie van het thema, op de muziek van Debussy en een aantal Lieder van Gustav Mahler.
● L’Après-midi wordt gedanst door Emmanuel Eggermont, die ook al te zien was in Hoghes Boléro Variations (2007). Deze schitterende solo past in Hoghes cyclus over de geschiedenis van de klassieke dans: Sacre – The Rite of Spring (2004), Swan Lake, 4 Acts (2005) en Boléro Variations.
