Decolonial Aesthesis, the Phantom Archive and the End of the Museum
What it is that we mean, when we talk about the museum, contemporary arts, the decolonial in the arts or about decolonizing the arts and the end of the contemporary?
The Kitchen Broadcast is back! In the presence of Lara Khaldi and Rolando Vazquez, this episode proposes to discuss Rolando’s new book ‘Vistas of Modernity. Decolonial Aesthesis and the End of the Contemporary.’ and Lara her recent curatorial work and reflections on the archive, the museum, the Palestine Museum in particular and the email essay she wrote to Mette Edvardsen on the Phantom Archive.
Kitchen Broadcast is an ongoing online conversation that proposes to listen to different voices, different rhythms and different sounds, reflecting on present situations that intersect in Brussels, curated by Joachim Ben Yakoub and Reem Shilleh. Last year the first episode Pushing for Historical Transformations was recorded in the Kaaistudios within the framework of the programme (Staying) in the Movement.
