Alors suivez notre nouveau cours en quatre volets What is Performance Art à propos de l’(in)utilité du mot à tiroir « performance ». De la performance d’autrefois et d’aujourd’hui, dans les arts plastiques et les arts de la scène. Lors de chaque cours, la performance est mise en lumière à partir d’une perspective différente avant d’assister à une performance (dans un contexte théâtral ou muséal) qui présente des points communs avec la thématique abordée. Katleen Van Langendonck, programmatrice du Kaaitheater et du festival Performatik, et un spécialiste, chaque fois différent, vous guident à travers le paysage de l’art de la performance à l’aide de textes et d’explications, et de beaucoup de matériel visuel.

Eva Wittocx

Eva Wittocx studied Art History at the Universities of Leuven and Warwick (UK). Between 1998 and 2006 she was curator at S.M.A.K., the museum for contemporary art in Ghent (B). She organised exhibitions by, among others, John McCracken, Orla Barry, Dora Garcia, Joëlle Tuerlinckx, Willem Oorebeek and Cai Guo Qiang. Between 2006 and 2009 she worked at STUK Arts Centre in Leuven, where she was in charge of the exhibition programme and the Playground performance festival (www.playgroundfestival.be). Since 2009 she has been chief curator of contemporary art at the new Museum M in Leuven, a museum both for historical and contemporary art (www.mleuven.be). She has recently organised exhibitions with Ugo Rondinone, Mika Rottenberg, David Shrigley, Dirk Braeckman, Sol LeWitt (wall drawings), Yael Davids, Aleksandra Mir and Pedro Cabrita Reis. She also continues programming the annual Playground festival both at STUK and M. Eva Wittocx has contributed to many catalogues, art magazines and other publications.
