[The performance on Sunday at 15:00 was cancelled due to covid. Tickets will be refunded] Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker continues her choreographic journey with the fifteen virtuoso Mystery Sonatas, the best-known compositions by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber. These intrinsically religious and narrative sonatas are also a warm invitation to dance, thanks to the musical dance forms such as Gigues, Allemandes and Courantes. De Keersmaeker immersed herself in the mystical and geometrical wealth of this music and made the Sonatas her own in a choreography for six dancers.

How do you do that, literally dance a dance language? Can a stage be like a page? Letters 2 Dance is an organised misunderstanding of a worn-out metaphor: choreography as dance writing starting with the smallest element, the alphabet

For François Chaignaud, the starting point of his new creation is a recurring dream: imagining a community of singers and dancers who cross the boundaries between two disciplines. In this impressive choreography the bodies, like the letters of the title, are separate and united at the same time.

Vera Tussing invites the string quartet Quatuor MP4 to join four dancers onstage for a playful encounter between movement and sound. The four musicians play passages from various quartets by Franz Schubert, Anton Dvorak and Florence Price as well as contemporary works by Georg Friedrich Haas and Caroline Shaw. At the point where the orbits of dance and music intersect, you are invited to enter the kaleidoscopic score. Lend a hand, or an arm!

What would it mean for choreography to perform as an exhibition? In 2021, De Keersmaeker was invited by Fondation Beyeler to create Dark Red—Beyeler, a ‘live installation’ where the dancing body faced the sculptural work of Auguste Rodin and Hans Arp

You see writhing bodies in a desolate landscape, hands and a head moving to the rhythm of an explosive drum solo, and a playful duet in which two women take control of the spectator's gaze. Meg Stuart creates an evening in which four dancers perform existing solos and duets, combined with fragments from full-length performances. All to live music. An excellent opportunity to journey through Stuart's oeuvre, which continues to grow, live and transform.

How do you translate the intensity, complexity and physicality of a piece of music into dance? For her new creation Duet for Two String Trios, Claire Croizé teams up with the Goeyvaerts String Trio, looking for answers to these questions through two string trios by the contemporary composer Charles Wuorinen. Dancers Emmi Väisänen and Jason Respilieux offer their bodies as a counterweight to this auditory onslaught. Music and dance circle each other in a play that is as dynamic and changeable as the string trios themselves: never a piece-by-piece translation, always a dialogue.

Through dance, stories and the projection of photos and film, the Senegalese dancer and choreographer Germaine Acogny evokes both the history of her family and that of West Africa in this committed autobiographical solo. The performance questions the place of women, the friction between tradition and emancipation and how identity is more of a path than an end point.

How does one make darkness tangible? Which other realities, encounters and connections become possible in the dark? gone here (yet) to come is an investigation into the materiality of darkness and how it relates to space. Digging deeper and deeper into the theatrical space and time exposes lost memories. Let these specters guide you into the dark and discover other dimensions of the world as we know it.

With Akal, Tamazight for Earth, Radouan Mriziga once again focuses on the knowledge of the Imazighen, the indigenous people of North Africa. In this solo, written for Dorothée Munyaneza, he creates an intimate mix of rituals, traditional dance, architecture, storytelling, song, poetry and rap. A fresh look at an oppressed past.

They blur the boundaries between artist and spectator, and opt for radical intimacy. Lands of Concert is based on the CARE principle, which focuses on recognising diversity and acceptance. Together, you will redefine your own position, that of the other, and that of the body as a form of limitation.

For this performance, choreographer Jérôme Bel asked actress Jolente de Keersmaeker not to play any of her usual roles from the theatre repertoire but to perform pieces from modern dance. Yet Dance for an Actress is not just a dance performance. As Jolente de Keermaeker still has some way to being a professional dancer, she throws all the usual formality of dance overboard. Expect an evening as dancing as it is theatrical on the cutting edge of movement and words, of body and imagination.
