Fase, four movements to the music of Steve Reich

dance
15—16.03.2007

A small miracle of dance

On 18th March it will be exactly 25 years since the very young Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Michèle Anne De Mey danced the first ever performance of Fase in the Beursschouwburg in Brussels. This marked the breakthrough of postmodern dance in Belgium, something which had rarely been seen here before. It also provided the impulse for the establishment of the Rosas company in 1983.

Fase was billed from 1982 to 1985, was revived between 1995 and 1999 and once or twice more in 2002 and 2006, always with the original dancers. Anyone who was not there at the time now has a new opportunity to experience it. Anne Teresa is still dancing, but this time with a new partner, the young dancer Tale Dolven.
