Villa Europa
On 22nd February 1942, Stefan Zweig and his wife committed suicide in Brazil. Shortly before this he wrote down his memories of a world that was on the point of disappearing. This posthumous autobiography (The World of Yesterday – Memories of a European) creates an impressive image of the old Europe with which Zweig felt close ties as an assimilated Jew, a committed writer and a humanist. De Warme Winkel energetically forges Zweig’s life-story into unruly and intriguing theatre.
