Een koptelefoon en zaklamp leiden je doorheen het donker van een gigantisch, verlaten en sluimerend theater. Het blijkt het decor te zijn voor een onwerkelijk aanvoelende repetitie voor machteloosheid, waarin je bent gecast als figurant. Ant Hampton verkent vaker geautomatiseerde ‘liveness’ en spontane, niet-gerepeteerde performances. Deze keer gaat hij des te verder met een intense ervaring die de illusie van het collectieve doorprikt.
• De Britse kunstenaar Ant Hampton (1975) werkt sinds 1999 aan performances met nonprofessionele performers die reageren op scores, live en ongerepeteerd (Autoteatro).
