Nada Gambier, Gosie Vervloessem, Michiel Reynaert, Ondine Cloez & Eszter Némethi

An enthusiastic group of artists will conduct experiments in our theatre halls and rehearsal spaces or elsewhere. They will ruminate on different ways of living and working: how can you develop an arts practice in times with no live audiences? Output is permitted, but not required!

For this residency, the Brussels based artists Nada Gambier, Gosie Vervloessem, Michiel Reynaert, Ondine Cloez and Eszter Némethi come together out of a desire to temporarily transform their individual artistic practices into a collective trajectory of learning. During two weeks, they will experiment and reflect on questions related to being and working together today, the urgency to save and foster, the missing, how to expose and play with positive processes of contamination, and how long one can stay in a state of not-knowing before the desire for solutions takes over. The artists see this residency as a moment of unravelling, provoking and stimulating their individual thoughts by inviting them into a collective space of potential, a sort of non-hygienic playing ground for hybrids, where contamination of knowledge and desire stirs up new possibilities, new questions, new areas of inquiry.

During the residency, they will also discuss and develop formats for public sharing of their practices with the aim of bringing their experiments to fruition through a public event in April 2021. The event will also involve other artists upon invitation, take place from sunrise to sunset (or sunset to sunrise), happen in different locations in the city and be thought of as a gift to the audience.
