Romance
Lígia Soares brengt in Romance een parodie op het 21e-eeuwse westerse 'gezond verstand' door te experimenteren met perspectiefwissels en de speelse herhaling van zinnen. Romance nodigt je uit om de komische spanning en het gevoel van herkenning of afkeer onder de loep te nemen, die ontstaan wanneer we – letterlijk – iemand anders voor ons laten spreken. In een intieme setting bouwt Lígia Soares met behulp van eenvoudige taal een band op met de toeschouwers en laat ons zo nadenken over de manier waarop we als individu denken binnen een groep.
• Lígia Soares is een Portugese choreografe en theaterauteur. Haar oeuvre omvat onder meer Romance, Turning Backs en O Ato de Primavera, stuk voor stuk performances waarin ze op zoek gaat naar scenografische elementen die de cruciale rol van de toeschouwer benadrukken.
