Celestial Sorrow

Voor Celestial Sorrow werkte Meg Stuart voor het eerst samen met de Indonesische beeldende kunstenaar Jompet Kuswidananto. Vertrekkend vanuit collectieve herinneringen en fictieve trauma’s creëert het duo een wereld van licht en beweging, bewoond door drie performers en twee muzikanten. Samen wagen ze zich aan een artistieke ontdekkingstocht doorheen imaginaire en onzichtbare ruimtes, op zoek naar de stemmen die die tot leven wekken. Celestial Sorrow ging in 2018 in première in de Kaaistudio’s, en verhuist voor deze herneming naar de scène van het Kaaitheater.
