Dans les années 80, Thomas Bernhard a écrit trois romans sur les arts : Le Naufragé, sur le pianiste Glenn Gould, Maîtres anciens sur l’art pictural et Des arbres à abattre. Une irritation sur le théâtre. Il y a douze ans, STAN a adapté la deuxième partie de la trilogie. Damiaan De Schrijver et Jolente De Keersmaeker adaptent à présent la troisième partie.
