Every other year, Performatik showcases contemporary performance art or ‘live art’. From 13 to 23 March 2019, more than 40 artists enter a twilight zone in which they tinker with the codes of both the performing arts and the visual arts. The sixth edition of Performatik, the Brussels biennial of performance art, is organized by Kaaitheater in association with 11 partners across the city who all contribute their own expertise.

The curators of Performatik19 are Katleen Van Langendonck (Kaaitheater), Vladimir Miller (a.pass), Ive Stevenheydens (Argos), Dries Douibi and Helena Kritis (Beursschouwburg), Anne Judong and Ekaterina Kaplunova (BOZAR), Luk Lambrecht (CC Strombeek), Carine Fol (Centrale for Contemporary Art), Serge Laurent (KANAL – Centre Pompidou), Wouter Bouchez and Julie Rodeyns (Topaz / IN/FINITY), Zoë Gray (Wiels), Elke Decoker (workspacebrussels), Emiel Rooman (ZSenne art lab).
