Come and see this! The first performance played by two computers! The New York director Annie Dorsen has programmed two laptops in such a way that every evening they perform an improvised dialogue based on a famous television debate from the 1970s between philosopher Michel Foucault and linguist and activist Noam Chomsky.

Chomsky and Foucault debate language, creativity, science and politics. Dorsen has added quite a few other sources to this: YouTube, the Bible, Shakespeare, etc. The result is a discussion that frequently veers off into unexpected, at times nonsensical, digressions. What remains of our faith in humanity when artificial intelligence sidelines us so easily?

Hello Hi There is an intelligent, witty and sometimes scary dialogue about man in the age of digital reproduction.

• For WoWmen 2014, Annie Dorsen was a guest at Kaaitheater with Magical, a performance inspired by feminist performances from the 1960s and 1970s. Dorsen is active in theatre, dance, film and (digital) performance. She was co-author and director of the Broadway musical Passing Strange (2008), filmed by Spike Lee in 2009.
