In Tundale?s Vision, a sort of forerunner of Dante?s Divine Comedy, the soul of the knight Tundale roams heaven and hell. This twelfth-century Latin text by an Irish monk has been translated into many European languages and contains numerous references to liturgical chants. This allowed the musicologist Katarina Livljanic to make a musical reconstruction, for which she drew upon Latin and Slavonic sources. She and her Dialogos ensemble are among the international top rank when it comes to performing late-mediaeval religious music.
