Thu 27.01 - Sat 29.01.11

Theatre-maker and artist Kris Verdonck combines one ‘old’ and one ‘new’ performance. Part 1 is a performance for two plasterers. In part 2 an actor tries to tell his story as authentically and objectively as possible.

Changing Tents

Changing Tents
Changing Tents
Mon 17.01 - Sun 23.01.11

Six tents and a car together form a temporary zone for social and economic change. A group of artists have been invited by Radical_Hope to set up this out-of-the-ordinary “camp”. You can then stay and get involved in the week-long process of action that aims to generate ideas: ideas about new ways of organising work, urban food production, alternative energy management, innovative financing schemes and so on.

Bolscan
Kaaitheater
Fri 17.09 - Sun 19.09.10

Away with the flat screen and the directed eye. The Bolscan enables
you to look around in the filmed image, and you decide for yourself
which image from the 360° sequences you view. Discover Brussels’ canal
zone (or a part of it) by standing in the middle of it, while actually
being in the Kaaitheater… Since 2003 CREW / Eric Joris have been
exploring omnidirectional video and immersive technology.

Actor #1

Actor #1
Actor #1
Kaaistudio's
Thu 14.01 - Sat 16.01.10

Kris Verdonck quite often combines his fascination with machines with images and concepts that owe a lot to science fiction. This certainly applies to the three-part Actor #1, a performance about evolving: about what has come into being, what is, and what may come into being. Three variations on the metamorphosis from chaos to order. The three parts of the performance are shown in separate rooms at the Kaaistudios, and a guide takes you from one to the other.

Evaporated Landscapes

Evaporated Landscapes
Evaporated Landscapes
Kaaistudio's
Fri 27.11 - Fri 27.11.09

Mette Ingvartsen creates artificial landscapes that evaporate, dissolve and transform, using such ephemeral materials as light, sound, bubbles and foam. In Evaporated Landscapes, choreography no longer signifies the arrangement of physical movements in space, but the relationship between the ephemeral elements that magically flow and dissolve in space.
