Tue 25.04 - Wed 26.04.17

In Cinema Dialogue, Monika Gintersdorfer and Knut Klaßen critically examine the United Nations’ ostensibly apolitical Millennium Development Goals. They juxtapose the universalism of the UN programme with the local reality of urban development in Kinshasa between 2000 and the present day.

Sat 28.01.17

In her successful production All Ears, Kate McIntosh transforms the stage into a laboratory and recording studio. In the silence between the sound recordings, she asks you questions: who are we when we are alone, and what are we missing in our urge for self-actualization? With disarming flair and presence, she blends theatre, variety, stand-up comedy, science and philosophy.

Trial of Money (work in progress)
Kaaistudio's
Tue 10.01 - Wed 11.01.17

If it is true that money rules the world, then perhaps time has come for it to account for its acts. It is therefore not in an attempt to bribe a magistrate that Christophe Meierhans is bringing money to court, but on the contrary, in order to offer it a fair trial: Is money itself the culprit for having brought the world to the catastrophic state it is in now, or has it rather been employed to the design of ill-intentionned individuals?

EXTRA SHOW 5/12! - Pieter Ampe and Benjamin Verdonck bring a disruptive concertante of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. On stage, the seasons pass by, but the sequence is not always as it should be. The marvellous, endless epilogue that follows leaves you feeling orphaned and defenceless.

With the journalistic theatre project HULP, she focuses on North-South issues. Do we still actually believe in development aid? And what course should we follow in the year 2017? Nuyens forces you to consider the value of ‘doing good’ and humanitarianism, in an era where individuals come first.

Gender Stereotypes as a Challenge for Law and Society

Stereotypical attitudes to women and men and to gender are still commonplace in our society. The judicial world is also not immune to them. Where are these apparent? What are their effects? And how can they be counteracted?

Cinemaximiliaan is a cinema for people on the move. The project started spontaneously in the refugee camp in the Maximilian Park, where daily film screenings provided a welcome distraction. The volunteers of Cinemaximiliaan have encountered dozens of newcomers with artistic talent. This evening features work by three of these people.

Sat 23.04.16

Burrows and Fargion offer a chance to see their 2014 Venice Biennale piece Body Not Fit For Purpose. It is an attempt to reconcile personal politics with the difficulty of saying anything of consequence in a dance performance, all the while revealing the strange permeability of dance to any message that it meets.
