CANCELLED DUE TO ILLNESS KRISTINN HRAFNSSON - An afternoon of debate and discussion that looks in greater depth at one of the themes of Book Burning: our need of factual knowledge to understand the world, and of stories to give meaning to the facts. Pieter De Buysser et Hans Op de Beeck will explore this topic together with Kristinn Hrafnsson, spokesman for WikiLeaks and the
number two of the organization founded by Julian Assange.

CANCELLED - We are inviting Árpád Schilling to give a one-off talk, putting his trilogy into
context along with the relationship between the social and the artistic
that exists throughout his work. It will be about the choices made and
the theatre’s political dimension in the troubled context of Hungary
today. It presents a unique opportunity to meet an impassioned artist.

With END (2008), the performance artist Kris Verdonck created an apocalyptic performance about the possible end phase of human society. The creative process behind this remarkable performance has now been documented and described in detail in Listen To the Bloody Machine - creating Kris Verdonck’s END. Its authors are Marianne Van Kerkhoven (Kaaitheater) and Anoek Nuyens, who worked as dramaturge and student-dramaturge in END’s production team. The book will be presented in Brussels in the presence of its authors as well as the artist, who will be interviewed by Christophe Slagmuylder, director at the Kunstenfestivaldesarts.

May will see publication of A Choreographer’s Score: Fase, Rosas danst Rosas, Elena’s Aria, Bartók, a book and four DVDs about Rosas’ early works, performed again last spring at the Kaaitheater. In interviews with Bojana Cvejić, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker talks in depth about her choreographic works and the processes behind their creation.
