Summer in a country house
The Antwerp theatre collective STAN and five guest actors will present a famous play from the Russian theatre repertoire: Maxim Gorky’s Summerfolk (1905). In Summerfolk a group of Russian friends spend the summer together in the rural setting of a country house. The story dramatises the life of the Russian aristocracy and artists and their experience of the social changes taking place at the start of the twentieth century.
• Tg STAN was founded in 1989. Jolente De Keersmaeker, Damiaan De Schrijver, Sara De Roo and Frank Vercruyssen present a hybrid and socially critical repertoire in which Cocteau and Anouilh are presented alongside Chekhov, Bernhard next to Ibsen and comedies by Wilde or Shaw alongside essays by Diderot. Their work is actor-oriented and undogmatic. They often work together with Maatschappij Discordia, Dood Paard, Compagnie De Koe and Rosas.
Matinee Kadee on October 3rd
Matinee Kadee are 5 fun children’s workshops during 5 Sunday matinees for parents: while you enjoy the performance in the theatre, the children take over the rest of the Kaaitheater building. The 4 to 12s let down their hair in workshops that are both challenging and fun; younger brothers or sisters are looked after in a cosy room.
The workshops are free; you only have to buy a ticket for the performance. As there is only a limited number of places for the workshops it is necessary to book in advance! Call 02 201 59 59 or send an e-mail to tickets@kaaitheater.be.
On Sunday, October 3rd, we organize a film workshop: the children explore the world of film, from flip books to animation films, and put together a film of their own!
