Voice Letter
They grew up in the USSR, where several of them were musicians on the underground scene in Moscow, and after the fall of the Wall they left for Berlin, where, in 2006 and on the initiative of the artist, poetess and singer Irina Doubrovskaya, they formed the group Ersatzmusika. It has a sound all its own, in which one hears traces of dub, urban folk, world, minimal, gipsy music and musical cast-offs from the Soviet period. Their first CD, Voice Letter, was issued on the German Asphalt Tango label.

East of Brussels Où commence l’Est ? Dans les Cantons de l’Est ? En Allemagne ? Pour les Allemands, il commence en Pologne. Pour les Polonais, il commence en Russie. Et pour les Moscovites, est-ce au Kazakhstan ? Personne n’habite à l’Est, l’Est, c’est toujours où vivent les autres. À nos yeux, quel est le point commun entre tous ces lieux situés à l’Est ? Le fait qu’ils soient étrangers ? Étrangers et inconnus ? L’idée d’East of Brussels est d’aller chercher cet inconnu – mais pas moins captivant pour autant – et de le faire venir à Bruxelles au moyen d’un certain nombre de spectacles. Les montrer pour avoir été créés « à l’Est », mais surtout parce qu’ils sont bons et qu’ils ont une approche singulière de l’histoire (ART&SHOCK), de l’architecture (Deufert+Plischke), de la tradition (Les SlovaKs, Eszter Salamon) et du vide qu’entraîne tout bouleversement (Gabia). |
