Incofin cvso, MO* & Kaaitheater
An instrument in the struggle against poverty
Investment in microfinance works. Incofin, the Belgian microfinance fund manager, wants to subject this statement to a reality test in a debate involving speakers from both home and abroad. The evening starts with two instructive impact studies on micro-entrepreneurs in Cambodia. The Change Study Report 2012 will then be given its first public airing by Tanmay Chetan, the chairman of the Cambodian microfinance institution AMK. After that, speakers and public will debate the topic of microfinance as an instrument in the worldwide struggle against poverty, moderated by the MO* editor Gie Goris. What are the challenges and dangers? How can social and financial returns be reconciled? How does microfinance retain its financing? This evening session gives you the opportunity to join in a debate on the future of microfinance.
