Jan Vromman focuses on the uncertainty of humans – and artists – about their role in this existence. In this respect, we all seem like poets with an alphabet, searching for a language that might generate meaning. Vromman’s lecture highlights texts that seek to express this train of thought. He combines this with footage from his extensive archive.
• The film and television producer, video artist and theatre director Jan Vromman (°1958) blazes his own trail. His work is socially committed and suffused with human warmth. With a refined sense of humour, he combines the documentary and the analytic with the anecdotal and the seemingly banal.

Deze tentoonstelling vormt het opmerkelijke resultaat van een samenzwering tussen twee buitengewone, erg verschillende kunstenaars. Hoewel Vincent Dunoyer en Jan Vromman zich tot elkaar lijken te verhouden als yin tot yang, als minimalist tot maximalist, delen ze eenzelfde weerbarstigheid. Voor dit project zoomen ze in op het concept ‘Spanje’, met als resultaat een bespiegeling over macht en onmacht, kracht en kwetsbaarheid, logos en pathos.
