Physical experiences

The Norwegian choreographer Heine Røsdal Avdal studied at P.A.R.T.S. and danced with Meg Stuart for a few years before founding deepblue together with Yukiko Shinozaki and Christoph De Boeck in 2002. At the festive opening of the new season Avdal will be presenting his latest creation, drop a line, a sensual total experience the spectator experiences at his own rhythm.

Wherever Avdal presents drop a line, he works together with various partners: dancers, musicians, a set designer, an olfactory artist, and so on. The question of the relationship between the artistic ‘product’ and the creative process that precedes it always plays a central role: each new space is examined and then given its own special atmosphere and form. In this same space the spectator is submerged in a variety of physical experiences, some of which you experience purely individually and others together with your fellow spectators.
