‘Africaliennes’ refers to a series of awareness raising activities in Belgium that will shed light on the work by the Africalia partners in Africa. This Africalia evening presents a ‘sneak preview’ of two documentary films on contemporary South African artists - Screening and discussion (in English).

6.30pm –Screening 1 : "Zwelidumile" by Ramadan Suleman – (ENG/NL) - South Africa - 60’- 2010 - Coproduction Native At Large Ltd / Africalia
Documentary on the late South-African visual artist Dumile Feni, in the presence of the filmmaker.

8.30pm - Screening 2 : "The Plays of Miracle and Wonder" by Nicky Newman – (ENG/NL) - South Africa -70’- 2011 - Coproduction SeeThruMedia / Africalia
Documentary on South-African theatre director Brett Bailey and his refreshing theatre language. The artist will be present.

9.45pm – 10.15pm - Panel discussion with Ramadan Suleman and Brett Bailey.
