We have no fear

Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Jérôme Bel found each other in conversations about each other’s work. The expressive and mathematical choreography of Fase and Once enters into dialogue with the controversial maker of The show must go on and Shirtology. What they share is the curiosity for what the body produces on stage.

The point of departure for 3Abschied is the last part of Mahler’s Lied von der Erde: Der Abschied (The Farewell). ‘We are going to get our teeth into this work. It will not easily give in, but, like Mahler, when confronted with death, we have no fear.’
