Als je leest, maak je keuzes. Wat je leest, vertaalt zich naar de taal van je eigen leven. Een boek zoals Tolstojs Anna Karenina zou wel eens de verzameling kunnen zijn van alle levens die het lichtjes of ingrijpend heeft veranderd. Met deze eerste theatertekst die Tiago Rodrigues voor tg STAN schrijft, slaat hij overtuigend een brug tussen de acteurs van het Portugese Teatro Nacional en de spelers van STAN.
De spelers van STAN ontmoeten Tiago Rodrigues voor het eerst in 1997. Als piepjonge student aan de toneelschool van Lissabon volgt hij een van hun workshops in het Centro Cultural de Belém. Een jaar later staat hij al met ze op de planken voor Point Blank, een bewerking van Tsjechovs Platonov.
• Tiago Rodrigues – sinds 2015 directeur van het Teatro Nacional – was al te gast in het Kaaitheater met Yesterday’s Men (2008) en By Heart (2016). Eerder dit seizoen presenteerde hij tevens Antony en Cleopatra. STAN zie je ook opnieuw, met een marathonuitvoering van hun Bernhard-trilogie.
